Getting Ready to Go

Jake's loading up the car.  We're planning on getting up at around 3am to leave for Ironwood.  It's pretty crazy, but I think it'll help a lot with Lila.  It will probably take ~13 hours to get there, give or take.  I think she'll be pretty cranky by the time we get there tomorrow... and I'm sure I will be too.  I've been really tired the past few days and haven't been getting enough sleep.  This car ride won't help either, because I usually don't sleep well in the car.  So, we'll see.

It's been a busy few days trying to get everything ready.  The house is a mess, and I hate leaving for vacation with the house being a mess, but oh well.  Emily is going to house sit while we're gone, so she'll probably do some picking up for us.  That works out well.

Excited to see everyone.  It's going to be a crazy week.  I'm nervous about how Lila will do, but I'm sure everything will work out.  At least I'll have Jake's help all week.  I'm excited to spend 10 days with him.  We're so busy lately and seems like we don't have enough time for each other, to just relax.

We stayed up late talking last night, which was nice.  He was promoted yesterday, Director of Production.  Jen told him that his next promotion will be as VP of Operations and she said it will come with a BIG raise... don't know when that'll be.  Jake gets his own office now instead of a cube.  He's really, really excited about this opportunity.  We talked last night about how crazy it all has been, our life since we've been married.  Heavenly Father has orchestrated all of it, and it's so apparent now.  When we were engaged, and I was just 18 and he was 21 (it seemed so old back then but seems sooo young now), before he even had an interview at Stryker, we were telling people that we'd move to Kalamazoo after Jake graduated because he had a job there.  We just knew it was going to happen for us.  And if he hadn't worked at Stryker, he wouldn't have known Kevin Staples, who at the time was the Stake Clerk.  When Kevin became Bishop, he recommended Jake to be called as Clerk, because he knew Jake and his abilities well from work.  If Jake hadn't had that calling, he wouldn't have met and become friends with Josh Little, who was serving as Executive Secretary.  And it was Josh Little who got him the job with Maestro.  So many little things working together for our good.  And we're so grateful.
